1985–1998 - The Technology Journey

1985

InfoU founded in Umeå.

1991

InfoU became Vitec.

1993

Vitec hit a bump in the road and faced a temporary crisis.

1995

The first woman, Annika Bergquist, joins Vitec and paves the way for more to join.

1996

Vitec's software becomes the most widely used tool on the NordPool power exchange.

1998

Vitec tried to establish in Germany, but it led to a new strategy: acquiring local companies.

1998

The first acquisition is done: BRA Administration Sollentuna AB.

1998–2010 - The Stock Market Journey

First listing - on the small Swedish stock market IM/Innovationsmarknaden

1999

Vitec is listed on Aktietorget.

2000

Vitec was relatively untouched when the .com bubble burst.

2002

First dividend payout. Unique in the Swedish IT industry.

2007

The business model with recurring revenue gains ground.

2009

Vitec is affected by the difficulties in the financial market. A downsizing leads to improved profitability.

2011–2025 - The Acquisition Journey

2011

Listed on Nasdaq. Vitec also acquires its first company outside Sweden: IT Makeriet (Megler), Norway.

2013

First acquired company in Finland: Acute.

2014

First acquired company in Denmark: Aloc.

2016

Business streamlined to focus on standard products and the trademark was registered.

2016

The governance model is clarified and strengthened through the introduction of the VPO model.

2020

Values and corporate culture is documented.

2021

Lars steps down after 38 years as CEO.
Olle Backman becomes the new CEO.

2021

Greater focus is placed on sustainability.

2021

The first company outside the Nordics is acquired, Vabi in the Netherlands.

2022

Vitec is moved from Mid Cap to Large Cap on Nasdaq Stockholm.

2024

The We Tech campaign is launched.
Vitec has increased its dividends for 22 years running.

2024

Vitec takes a step into the Belgian market by acquiring Trinergy.

2025

Vitec turns 40 years!
